An online creative experience rooted in Islamic beliefs, ethics, and purpose

Looking for something meaningful and creative this summer?

Our Shakhsiyah Art Summer Camp is a two-week virtual programme that revives the rich Islamic history of calligraphy and art. Your child will learn to use art as a form of reflection and connection to their deen. Each group will meet Monday to Thursday for two weeks in small classes of 10 students max. This isn’t a typical summer course—it’s a space where children and teens express themselves thoughtfully through calligraphy, storytelling, and character work, guided by caring teachers and a Shakhsiyah arts curriculum.

Who is it for? What will they learn? Children are placed in one of the two age-specific groups. Each group follows a theme tailored to their developmental stages. You can find out more about our curriculum on our website.

✍️ Calligraphy & Reflection (Ages 11–18): Children will explore Islamic calligraphy while reflecting on themes of knowledge, names, and meaning in Islam. They’ll work with both classical scripts and modern compositions, guided by prompts that link their practice to ideas of self, intention, and beauty.

🧵 Good & Bad: A Puppet Art Workshop (Ages 7–11): Through storytelling, character creation, and simple puppet-making, children will explore the themes of good and bad actions in a joyful and imaginative way. Perfect for expressive kids who love making things with their hands.

Why choose this over other camps or classes?

Because this is more than “learning”—it’s thinking, connecting, and growing. Your child will be guided by a trained teacher who sees and values their potential and voice. It’s screen time with purpose.

Why is it important for young Muslims study art? Art is more than creativity—it’s a way for Muslim children to explore meaning, express identity, and build cultural confidence. Our art programme nurtures creative sensitivity and cultural intelligence from a young age, drawing on rich Islamic artistic heritage and global traditions. With a truly decolonial, non-Eurocentric lens, children engage with themes from across the world—from Chinese landscapes to calligraphy—while developing a sense of beauty (jamāl) rooted in their faith and fitrah
